This Friday (13), Samsung announced that Kwon Oh-Hyun, one of the company's top executives, resigned from the company. He had been with the company for 32 years and was chairman of Samsung's board of directors, as well as running the company's component parts, including memory chips and displays.
Kwon's decision comes at a critical time for the company. The Korean giant, on the one hand, expects to announce a record quarterly profit of more than R$ 40 billion, however, on the other hand, the company has been experiencing an unprecedented corruption scandal, which resulted in the sentence of five years in prison for the important Executive Jay Y. Lee.

The executive also mentioned that "there are no words to describe" his pride in having built "one of the most valuable companies in the world". "But now the company needs a new leader more than ever, and it's time for me to move on to the next chapter of my life," he concluded.
For now there is no mention of Kwon's successor.
