With the advancement of technology in the field of smartphones, many of the major manufacturers are investing in foldable devices, which may even be part of the future of humanity. However, although these devices attract a lot of attention, today, they are still not very accessible thanks to their high market prices.
To get around this, past rumors were saying that Samsung had intentions of bringing to the public, a cheaper version of the Galaxy Z Fold 2. Apparently, the company stopped talking about it, and the project may have been cancelled.
Now, the South Korean giant plans a cheaper version of another foldable smartphone, and some information points out that they are already working on the Galaxy Z Flip Lite project.

Galaxy z flip lite
Ross Young, CEO of DSCC, says he hasn't heard from the Z Fold Lite in a while, thus concluding that the company has really given up on this device.
With that, Young says that the subject that has been circulating in the corridors of Samsung talk about a Galaxy Z Flip Lite, which, as the name suggests, would be a cheaper version of the Galaxy Z Flip.
This supposedly cheaper version generated discussions on the internet, saying that to achieve such a feat, Samsung would be forced to install a plastic screen, very similar to the first Galaxy Fold. According to Young, however, even with the idea of reducing costs, it seems that the Lite model would not have a plastic screen, but an ultra-thin glass that is already used in the Z Flip.
If this is indeed true, Samsung could reach new heights in the smartphone market, as it is easy to predict that the Galaxy Z Flip Lite would increase the number of sales, and make foldable smartphones more common among the public.
For now, it's nothing but a big rumor, but if the company really plans to release a cheaper foldable, we'll obviously get more information soon.
