Samsung to introduce Galaxy S9 in January

Samsung is expected to present its Galaxy S9 in January next year, that is, sooner than we expected. The company, by tradition, usually presents its Galaxy line between March and April, however, this time the launch could take place during CES 2018, the largest technology fair in the world.

The news came through journalist Evan Blass, well known for bringing news from the technological world through his Twitter profile. It has a long history of leaking information and images about cell phones before launches.

      • OLED X QLED. Which technology is better?
      • What is QLED?
Blass uses the phrase "year tock", a reference to Intel's historic "tick-tock" release cycle, which projects a year with major changes. In addition, the expression was also used to refer to the iPhone release cycle, alternating between a year of aesthetic renewal and a year of component updates and also general improvements.

Thus, the Galaxy S9 (codenamed Star 1) and Galaxy S9+ (Star 2) should be very similar to the S8 and S8+. The screen should remain the same size, with 5,8 inches on the smaller version and 6,4 inches on the Plus version. In addition, it is believed that they may come equipped with a Snapdragon 845 processor and an Exynos of similar power.

The camera used in new versions of the device must be different. The larger model is expected to feature a dual camera setup, similar to what is found on the Galaxy Note 8, while the single version will only keep a rear sensor.

To complete the changes, the fingerprint reader must have its position changed. The Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus had the sensor next to the camera, not below it as usual. Thus, it is likely that in the new version the reader is in another position.

To complete, the devices must offer 64 GB of internet storage, as well as a microSD card slot, Dex support, stereo audio and a headphone jack with a 3,5mm port.
