All about the Galaxy A32 5G, Samsung's intermediary with MediaTek

Launched less than a month ago by Samsung, the Galaxy A32 5G arrived with the proposal to be an intermediary and bring compatibility with 5G, a feature that has been implemented by the company in the most popular lines. The device brings few changes compared to the previous one, presenting improvements in hardware but suffering setbacks in other technical aspects.

The A32 5G did not become popular in the Spanish market, as users chose to look for new alternatives in Xiaomi devices, more specifically in the Redmi Note 10 Pro model, a competitor that has a better cost-benefit ratio if we compare what is offered by Samsung in the its recently launched with the RN 10 Pro, which has the Snapdragon 732G processor and version with 6 GB of RAM.

    past generation

The A32 5G actually brought some improvements in hardware and construction compared to the previous generation of the line, but implementing 5G technology meant that the manufacturer needed to save on other points so that it was possible to maintain a price in line with the classification at which this device belongs to: intermediary. entertainment The A31 remains a good option compared to the model that was announced this year, with a plastic construction and interesting specs.

    Design and Canvas

The A32 5G brings the new South Korean design standard and is being inserted into both entry and intermediate and top-of-the-line models. The model is very similar to the Galaxy S21, smartphones launched earlier this year and which brought some significant changes, mainly in the design. On the back of the A32 5G we have a quadruple set of cameras positioned to the right next to the flash and just below the brand name. On the front is the 2019 standard: presence of the drop-shaped notch and large edges at the bottom of the screen, not bringing the so-called "infinite display", but which is fully understandable because it is an intermediate model.

What is not understandable is that Samsung will launch a device in 2021 with a 6,5-inch IPS LCD screen with HD resolution (720 x 1600 pixels) and 270 ppi. Everything indicates that the manufacturer had to save on the display to be able to add support for the 5G network, a technology that is walking slowly in Spain. Just for comparison, the last generation brought a Super AMOLED display with FullHD resolution and 6,4".

The screen is certainly one of the points to be considered when choosing a new cell phone and in this case it is what can make the purchase of the Galaxy A32 5G unfeasible compared to other options from the company itself or from the competition. Even with a manual adjustment of the color temperature, white balance and brightness it will not be possible to obtain the same quality of a Super AMOLED display compared to an IPS LCD.

    Cameras

The set of rear cameras is well balanced and brings several types of cameras, whether for photographs that use optical zoom. There are four sensors, with a 48MP main camera (f/1.8), 8MP ultra-wide angle (f/2.2), 5MP macro (f/2.4) and 2MP depth (f/2.4) camera. The cameras are capable of producing good images, but it is necessary to take into account the post-processing carried out by MediaTek's Dimensity 720.

Although the company has improved its processors in recent years, the Dimensity line is still not a reference in image processing, a function that is masterfully performed by Qualcomm chipsets.

    Processor

Like the Galaxy A31, the A32 5G also features a MediaTek processor, the Dimensity 720, announced in July last year and which is present in a few models. The SoC is 7 nanometers and has good energy efficiency. Still on the hardware, the processor integrates the Mali-G57 MC3 GPU, coming in versions with 4, 6 or 8 GB of RAM memory and 64/128 GB of internal storage expandable with a microSD card.

The low energy consumption aligned with the 5.000mAh battery with fast charging support can guarantee up to two days of autonomy, which may vary according to the user's usage pattern. In general, the hardware of the A32 5G will suit those looking for a smartphone that runs simpler games and performs everyday tasks, such as using social networks, messaging apps and occasionally some heavier apps.

    Worth it?

The Galaxy A32 5G is a good option if it can be found under R$1.800, which is not the case at the moment. Currently it is possible to find the version with 4/128 GB for about R$ 2.070 on Samsung's official website. The company's smartphones tend to depreciate by around 30% in the next six months after launch, so it might be a good idea to wait for Black Friday.
