Instagram Lite launches in emerging countries

Android Go was launched on the market as a bet by Google to improve the experience of users who have basic smartphones, that is, which are not so powerful. For this reason, the system has already received several Lite apps that are lighter and offer more fluid navigation.

The last to join the team was Instagram, which decided to launch a Lite version of its application, being more basic and also lighter. The application, which is focused on developing countries, weighs approximately 573 KB and can be considered a web application (PWA).

Instagram Lite has several features that are already present in the traditional version of the Android application. Therefore, it is still possible to use all filters, as well as post photos, view and post Stories and even use the Explore tab.

According to the Instagram team, the lite version will soon receive support for direct messages between users. The idea is to initially test the acceptance of the public in countries like India and Spain.
