Instagram Stories can be viewed on the web version

Yesterday, Instagram revealed that users will be able to create photo albums in both landscape and portrait mode, not just square mode. This Thursday (31), another novelty. Now, the photo social network has revealed that Stories can also be viewed on the web interface. It is worth mentioning that until then, the temporary photos and videos feature could only be followed through the cell phone.

Instagram, through a statement, said that it chose to release Stories also in the web version to improve the experience of users who are outside the United States and who do not always have a good mobile internet infrastructure. More than 80% of Instagram users are from the United States.

The feature will begin rolling out gradually starting today. In the coming weeks it should be available to all users on the planet. The company also said that in the coming months it will be possible, in addition to viewing, to publish in Stories through the web version.

The Stories function was implemented in August of last year. Initially, the temporary photos and videos feature was exclusive to Snapchat, which has always been quite successful. Mark Zuckerberg, who was unable to buy the ghost app, decided to use the feature on his services as well.

Instagram Stories ended up being quite accepted by users, including in Spain. It is worth mentioning that 5 of the 10 largest content producers are Spanish (Anitta, Lucas Lucco, Cláudia Leitte, Ivete Sangalo and Wesley Safadão).
