Instagram has started testing a change to the "Close Friends" function on the profiles of some users in Spain. The company's intention is to turn the resource into a tool called "Selected People".
In this way, the Instagram user will be able to choose who are the people who can view their stories, with each new post. Currently in testing, there is still no date set for the update to be released to the general public.

New feature in Instagram Stories
In short, the "Selected People" feature will work in the same way as the "Close Friends". The difference is that users should now have a new option to include, remove or keep profiles in the list with each new publication of Stories.
Therefore, the new feature should work as if it were a "Close Friends" editable in real time. In a press release, Instagram said the new feature can be useful when people don't want to share stories with all their best friends at the same time.
That is, sometimes the user just wants some people in particular to see the Stories, and the "Selected People" tool will allow that.
How does the "Selected People" feature work?
The profiles selected for the tests can use the new tool as follows: when the person is going to publish a story, it is necessary to tap the arrow, in the lower right corner of the screen, to open the sharing tab.
After that, it will be necessary to enter the "Selected People" menu to check the list of followers who will be able to view the content. Therefore, only people who are included in the list should be able to access the photo or video.
On the other hand, the other profiles should not have access to the story, even if they are part of the best friends list. Finally, it is worth mentioning that the "Selected People" feature should still leave the owners of the profiles, with a fixed list of best friends, who will be released to view the Stories.
