Samsung presents the Gear Sport, its new smartwatch

This Wednesday (30), during the "Pre-IFA 2017" conference in Berlin, Samsung unveiled its new smartwatch, the Gear Sport. The device in question is the more casual version of the Gear S3 and is not intended to replace the product on the market, but rather complete the availability of wearable devices from the brand.

The design presented in the new device is nicer than that of the S3, with the Gear Sport being thinner and lighter. It is just 11,6 mm thick and weighs just 50 grams without a strap installed.

Thus, for those who prefer water sports, the smartwatch is ideal. The watch received integration with Speedo's platform, Speedo On, in the form of a native application of Tizen, the operating system used in Samsung's wearables.

Anyone who purchases a Gear Sport will receive a 12-month free subscription to Under Armor's suite of fitness apps, including UA Record, MyFitnessPal, MapMyRun and Endomondo.

To top it off, the watch comes with a heart rate sensor and battery that lasts for four days of mixed use. The Gear Sport can also be used as a control for GearVR and for PowerPoint presentations.

Samsung did not mention a date for the launch of the device, as well as the value.
