According to analysts at The Bell, the Galaxy S8, Samsung's flagship smartphone lineup for 2017, has so far not been as successful as its predecessor. Forecasts were that sales of the gadget would reach the 10 million mark even before the Galaxy S7, however, it did not happen.
After the launch, during the first two months, the Samsung S8 had 9,8 million units sold, while the S7 registered 12 million units sold in the same period.

In the report by The Bell, another data mentioned concerns a reduction in orders from suppliers of some components of the S8, which reinforces its low demand. In this way, Samsung ended up slowing down the manufacture of the device as it is not selling as much as expected.
The Investor website says the South Korean company declined to directly compare the exact sales figures for the two models. Samsung only said that "the sales volume of the S8 is similar to that of the S7". She further pointed out that the S7 was launched worldwide from the very beginning, while the S8 first reached three key markets, only to be launched globally a while later.
