Amazon permanently disables YouTube app for FireTV

Amazon disabled the YouTube app after a legal dispute with Google. Thus, whoever has a Fire TV and wants to open the application, will come across a message suggesting that the user open a Firefox web browser and open YouTube.

The dispute between the two companies is not recent, and months ago YouTube stopped working on the Echo Show, and to fight back, Amazon stopped selling products on Nest, a company owned by Alphabet, which also owns Google. Following the fight, Google blocked Youtube inside the Echo Show and also on the Fire TV.

Google mentioned that it is negotiating with Amazon to reach an agreement in 2018. It is worth noting that, recently, Amazon returned to market the Chromecast and Apple TV in its online store.
