Final version of Android 11 could be released on August 8

So far, Google has not officially revealed the release date for the final version of Android 11, but a company executive may have let slip that it will be on August 8. The information was released during a live broadcast on the "Google Developers" channel on YouTube.

The date was mentioned by Michele Turner, director of Google's Connected Home Ecosystem. While talking about IoT features, a slide was shown making it very clear what needs to be done for an alleged release of Android 11 on August 8th.

When we take into account the timeline of the beta versions, the date informed by the executive is even surprising. The final version of Android 10, for example, was introduced on September 3rd, while the public beta had started on May 7th. This year, however, Android 11 only entered that last phase on June 10th. This was due to the cancellation of Google I/O and delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Even so, it is important to remember that the disclosure of the date does not seem to have been an oversight by Michele Turner, which leads us to believe that it is just a ruse by Google. After all, the search giant usually "leaks" some incorrect information on purpose, as it knows that the media will spread the information, something that naturally keeps its products on the rise.

Anyway, there is also the possibility that August 8 is the official release day of Android 11. We will have to wait for other details to confirm (or not) all this. Until then, other betas of Google's mobile OS will be released to the public, delivering several interesting news and features.
