Google call app update brings native call recorder

Google has made an update to the company's calling app available and allows the user to configure the app to automatically start recording when a call comes in from a number that is not in the phone book. The new setting is not yet available in all countries, although it is possible to manually activate it on Xiaomi mobiles through MIUI 12 itself or using other calling applications.

The update natively brings the possibility to record calls as soon as a number that is not saved in the device's phonebook calls, and it is even possible to define specific contacts so that the application starts recording the conversation. The novelty is not yet available for all countries, but it is expected to officially arrive soon.

The feature has been anticipated for Pixel phones, select Xiaomi models and versions enrolled in the Android One program in India. The recording file will be saved on the smartphone's internal storage and it will not be possible to automatically send it to the Drive. Through the settings it is possible to configure the application to delete the recordings after a predetermined period of time.
