Google is accused of tracking users in incognito mode, in $5 billion lawsuit

The complaint alleges that unauthorized data collection takes place, contrary to the supposed protections of private browsing.

Where is your God now?! We've talked a lot about privacy and data security around here. Recently, we even hypothesized that the accusations made against Huawei are nothing more than a smokescreen.

After all, once connected to your smartphone or Google Chrome with your Gmail account, everything we do is tracked. Google has always claimed that this is done to make the user experience more personalized.

Now another lawsuit against Google's parent company, Alphabet Inc, has been filed in federal court in San Jose, California. He argues that Google Analytics and Ad Manager, among other apps and services, continue to collect data when they shouldn't, browsing in incognito mode on a mobile device or computer.

This violates federal wiretapping and privacy laws, according to the suit. The lawsuit asks for at least $5.000 per person in damages, with the possibility of millions of users being attached to the complaint.

Google spokesman Joe Castaneda vowed to defend the claims and said: "As we clearly state each time you open a new incognito tab, websites may collect information about your browsing activity."
