Google has just implemented some updates to the Google Pay app that serve to make it even easier to use. The service was announced earlier this year, was renamed and has since been modified and improved to become a super useful tool when making payments. These announced increments are now coming to the app.
One of the updates is the combination of two apps in one, Google Pay and Google Pay Send. With it it is now possible to pay someone or request payment from a friend. The novelty also helps when sharing an invoice with friends, for example. When you buy something with the app and want to share it, just tap the purchase and request payment, which can be up to five people. However, the feature is only available in the US and soon in the UK.
The director of product management at Google, Gerardo Capiel, says that the main idea of this merger is basically to bring everything to Google Pay, and that soon Pay Send can be turned off.

The app also allows payments from platforms such as Venmo, PayPal and Zelle. Transactions can be synced between the Google Pay mobile app and computer via Pay.google.com. Regarding tickets, so far only Ticketmaster and Southwest are accepting the app, but more stores will be supported soon.
Capiel also comments that, even though some app functionality is limited to Android, one of the goals is to support all platforms. Therefore, iOS users can download the app, and access it through the web. Soon, Google plans to launch Google Pay in more countries, especially those that already use an online payment service.
