Google Pixel 4 may have a camera with a telephoto lens

That the cameras developed by Google are great everyone already knows. Now, which new features the Pixel 4 will have is new! By all indications, the next release of the giant will come with a telephoto lens - which gives the possibility to obtain incredible images using zoom. 

The information was given by XDA-Developers, who suspected the fact after analyzing the code of version 6.3 Google Camera application. The site explains that, upon seeing the coding, the experts found a field called "SABRE_UNZOOMED_TELEPHOTO", which immediately caught everyone's attention.

SABER is the internal name given by Google to Super Res Zoom. In addition, other important points were discovered in this review with regard to camera IDs sensors.

Terms such as "front IR", "front regular", "front wide", "real regular" and "rear telephoto" were found. Taking into account the existing cameras on the Pixel 3 and their respective settings, the difference is in "front IR" and "rear telephoto", which appear now.

Possibly this means that the Pixel 4 will feature an infrared sensor (IR = infrared) for facial recognition. The "rear telephoto" would mean a telephoto sensor on the back of the device, with the Pixel 4 being the first smartphone of the brand to contain it. 

XDA-Developers claims, however, that if confirmed that the Pixel 4 will feature a rear camera with a telephoto lens, it will most likely come with a non-digital zoom. It is not possible to predict how much the zoom will be - since the capacity of the cameras is not known - but it is possible to say that Google will use its Super Res Zoom technology to complement the photos.
