Nest: Apple Music Support Added on Google Devices

Apple Music is one of the few Apple apps that are available on Android devices as the former wants to be able to compete with other cross-platform music streaming services like Spotify, YouTube Music, Deezer and etc.

Now it looks like the company is taking another big step like Apple Music is now available on Google Nest devices and also other smart speakers and displays with Google Assistant.

You probably already have Spotify or YouTube Music (or both) connected to your smart speakers and displays. But if you want another option to stream your favorite music, Apple Music is a pretty viable alternative with its 70+ million songs, albums, and playlists in its library. There's also a lot of exclusive content that you won't be able to find on other music services, so that's it.

Of course, you'll have to link your Apple Music account via the Google Home app, and if you'd rather make it your default music streaming service, you can do that too. Once you've linked your account, you can ask Google Assistant to play specific playlists or albums via voice commands. If you set it as the default, you won't need to add "Apple Music" to every command you make.

You can also play your own music library by saying, "Hey Google, play my library on Apple Music" or "Hey Google, play my library" if it's already your default music service. You can also stream music from your Apple Music playlist to various other smart devices by simply sending the correct command like "Ok Google, play music on all my speakers".

Apple Music will now be available to play on Google Nest and other Assistant-enabled smart speakers and displays. For now, it's available in the US, UK, France, Germany and Japan, with more countries to be added soon.
