Next Google Nest Speaker Revealed in Leak and Confirmed by Google

Images of the Google Home successor were found in an FCC file yesterday and posted on the Android TV Guide's Twitter account, with the device listed under the model number GXCA6. Google responded by sending an official photo and teaser of the Google Nest Speaker in publications, accompanied simply by the note: "what the Nest team is working on from home."

The Google Nest is the successor to the first and only line of Google speakers, following in design the already released Google Nest Mini. From the FCC images, we can see that the device measures around 21cm tall - taller than the larger Google Home Max. This is now confirmed with the image sent by Google PR to the media:

Like the Google Nest Mini, which launched in October, the big brother presents itself with the bluish gray (and perhaps pink) on the woven mesh cover - a hallmark of the 'Nest' aesthetic over the two-part fabric design and Google Home metal. Google announced last year in May that its subsequent smart home products would fit under the new 'Nest' brand, replacing the 'Home' product name, which it launched in 2016. So far, only the Mini of Google's three smart speakers launched, with the Nest imminent and the successor to the Home Max yet to be renamed.

Google's confirmation by the Nest is just a tease, mind you: additional information such as specs and pricing has not yet arrived. But with such a leak and an official statement from the company about the product, it shouldn't take long to be publicized, either by new leaks or by Google's own advance.
