4G speed rises in Spain; Claro is the fastest carrier

According to the updated report by OpenSignal, 4G internet coverage has increased in Spain and the operator Claro which has greater speed, that is, it managed to maintain its position disclosed in January.

So, let's see that we have good news regarding the operators, as they all showed improvements compared to previous analyses, with the exception of Vivo. Data from the respective survey were collected in May, with the objective of verifying the real speed of the country's wireless networks and collecting data on the coverage and latency offered by the operators.

Claro leads the research with a download speed that hits 29,21 Mb/s megabits per second, proving the famous "mega" in its internet commercials. While Vivo is in second position with 20,59 Mb/s; Oi in third position with 15,27 Mb/s and Tim, with 13,47 Mb/s. Although the collection of this data has shown improvements for the 4G network in Spain, it is still among the worst in the world.

Claro has the highest 4G internet speed in Spain

As for 3G, Nextel is the leader, which manages to reach a speed of 4,61 Mb/s, while we see Claro in second place with 4,29 Mb/s and later, Tim with 4,03 Mb/s, Vivo with 3,3 Mb/s and finally Oi with 2,73 Mb/s.

      Average 4G signal speed

In terms of 4G coverage, TIM and Vivo guarantee 65,1% and 62,3% availability of the fourth generation network, Claro, 49,4%, followed by Oi with 48,6%.

This measurement does not refer to the territorial coverage area claimed by the operator, but rather refers to the time the devices are connected to a 4G network.

OpenSignal also conducted a study on signal latency, ie the results demonstrate the amount of delay between the exchange of information (cellular/carrier). The four major Spanish operators managed to reach averages that ranged from 57 to 67 milliseconds of response time.

Nextel leads once again in terms of 3G latency, reaching 92 milliseconds, while Oi has the worst representation in this regard, 138 milliseconds of delay.
