Google will update Android TV to Android 10 next year

Several smartphone manufacturers are working to deliver Android 10 to certain models. Recently, HMD Global released the update for Nokia 7.1, while Samsung did the same for the Galaxy S10 sold in Spain.

Now, Google itself has said that it intends to update the Android TV operating system next year, officially releasing Android 10 with many performance and security improvements for Smart TVs. Among the novelties, the company said that updates will be faster due to "Project Treble", something that should certainly please users.

In addition, Android 10 on Android TV will also support encrypted data, increasing storage security and preventing malicious people from accessing any kind of information, all thanks to the new TLS 1.3 standard.

Seeking to help developers build and test apps for Android TV before the arrival of Android 10, Google also made a streaming device official, which it called "ADT-3". It features a quad-core processor based on ARM Cortex-A53, 2GB of DDR3 RAM, support for 4K content at 60fps and an HDMI 2.1 port.

In a statement, the search giant said the device would be delivered to developers "in the coming months". Unfortunately, we still don't have information on when Google will actually release Android 10 for existing TVs on the market. Therefore, we will have to wait for other details that reveal the period when the update will be released.
