How much time do you usually spend on the internet per day? A study revealed that the time spent, on average, in front of computers and smartphones is longer than the working hours established by law. Thus, each Spaniard spends an average of 9 hours connected to the network.
The study carried out by Google also showed that the number of Spaniards who are connected is quite large. Seven out of 10 Spaniards are on some social network, the number represents 45% above the average. Also, 9 out of 10 use YouTube to gain some knowledge.
The survey had the participation of 2.477 people distributed in 28 cities in Spain. According to the survey, the hours spent browsing could be better used if the Spaniards mastered online tools for access, use, security and also creation.

The researchers noticed that many internet users in Spain have difficulties in identifying fake websites and threats, including malware.
As positive points, the Spaniards stood out in the domain of messaging applications and browsers. However, as negative, the lack of knowledge about data storage and online transactions.
"We realized that there is an interrelationship between the skills. Overall, if you look at the five dimensions, the average score is three. What is more important is that among all the dimensions we have positive and negative sides", highlighted Maria Helena Marine.
The study says that developing digital skills could add US$70 billion to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Spain. This is all because the greater use of web tools can generate impacts on the country's economy.
